Our terminal

Short distances, clear architecture.

The "Hans von Ohain" terminal opened in 2005: 90 × 60 m floor area, designed for up to 1 million passengers a year. Two jet bridges and five remote stands, a duty-free shop and a terrace café overlooking the apron – plus 1,000 car parking spaces right by the building.

Just 28 km from Rostock, right at the A19/A20 motorway junction – quick to reach from Rostock, Berlin, Hamburg and Western Pomerania.

History

Over three decades of Rostock Airport

From military airbase to civil regional airport and gateway to the Baltic – the key milestones.

1993

Start of civil operations

Start of civil shared use of the airbase; the terminal opened on 4 October 1993 – just one year after planning began.

2005

New "Hans von Ohain" terminal

Ceremonial opening of the modern terminal (90 × 60 m) with capacity for up to 1 million passengers a year.

2011

Connection to Frankfurt/Main

Inaugural Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt – a direct link to Germany's largest hub.

2015

"Seamless Travel" launches

A concept unique in Germany combining air travel and cruises with Costa Crociere; free Wi-Fi in the terminal.

2017

EASA certification

Certification by the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – all operations to European standard.

2018

Passenger record

With 296,027 passengers, the most successful year to date; passenger screening operated in-house.

2020

"Green Airport" concept

Presentation of the sustainability concept; the terminal temporarily serves as the region's vaccination centre.

2022

Privatisation

Acquisition of 100% of the company shares by the Zeitfracht Group.

2025

Acquisition by CRISP Partners

In July 2025, CRISP Partners GmbH, Berlin, acquires Rostock-Laage Airport from the Zeitfracht Group.
