The new terminal was ceremonially opened to start its operation on September 9, 2005.
On a surface area of 90 x 60 meters, a state-of-the-art building with international flair has emerged and is designed to handle up to 1 million passengers per year.
The terminal disposes of 2 airbridges, where the aircrafts can be directly handled from the terminal. Another 5 remote stands are available on the apron area. The terminal was designed in compliance with international and mandatory IATA regulations (IATA = International Air Transport Association) and according to the ICAO-Manual (ICAO = International Civil Aviation Organisation). There is no lack of parking spaces – a total of 1000 parking bays are available. In addition, the terminal has a Mokkabar, shopping facilities and many more.
